One of VIP’s proudest traditions is its multi-award-winning speech and debate program, consistently recognized as one of the top two high school programs in the nation by the National Speech & Debate Association. Our students regularly achieve top honors across a broad spectrum of communication disciplines, with a remarkable track record of success at the state level. For two consecutive years, our poets claimed first place at Los Angeles’ prestigious GetLit competition, and we are honored to have launched Mila Cuda, the Youth Poet Laureate of the West Coast. Beyond debate and poetry, VIP offers a dynamic array of rotating electives that inspire creativity and innovation. Students engage in media-oriented projects like the VIP Globe digital newspaper, VIP TV, and our uniquely imaginative student-published yearbook.
