AP Capstone helps students develop key skills that they will use over and over in college: conducting research and communicating their results.

VIPHS is proud to be one of just 2,200 high schools worldwide selected to offer the esteemed AP Capstone Program, with many of our students earning the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma.

Our program equips students with advanced independent research skills and consistently high AP exam scores. As a College Board-sponsored initiative, AP Capstone students also cultivate essential communication and teamwork skills that are highly regarded by colleges.

Rather than teaching subject-specific content, the course in AP Capstone develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards (The AP Capstone Diploma or AP Seminar and Research Certificate), which are valued by colleges across the United States and around the world.
